Deliverance from the Sprit of Lust

Read and confess that you are set free in the Name of Jesus!

Father,
I come boldly before Your throne of grace and mercy to find help and strength my time of need.  Lord Your word says to watch and pray so that we will not enter into temptation, for we know that the spirit is willing, but Father my flesh is weak.

Lord, I submit myself to You, for Your word says that if we submit ourselves unto You, that we could resist the enemy and he would flee from us.  Lord I am fully submitted to You, all that I am, all that I ever hope to be.  I surrender unto You.

Father, I am weak but thou art strong, I know in my weakness You are made strong.  I know that my strength is not in my will to withstand the devil and his many temptations, but my faith, my strength, my hope is in You.  Therefore, Lord I confess that I am strong in You, and in the power of Your might.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I cast down every wicked, lustful, lascivious, and unclean thought of the enemy in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  I refuse to allow any thoughts of the enemy to enter in; I dismiss them from me in the name of Jesus.  Father, I pray that You will cause me to think upon those things which are pure, honest, and of a good report, and I pray that You will not allow my mind to wander into idleness, but to stay upon the name of Jesus.

Father, I thank You for revealing the evil lustful spirit that was trying to confuse me.  I thank You for not allowing me to be drawn away by his words of flattery, his lustful eyes, or his gifts of deceit.  I thank You for not allowing me to be overcome with lust in my eyes, for I know the eyes are the door to the heart, and Your words says to guard my heart with all diligence.  So Father, please help me to guard my heart by the words that I speak.

Father, I pray that You will place upon me the whole amour of God, so that I will always be able to stand against the tricks of the enemy.  I pray that You will lead and deliver me from every temptation of lust, sin, and evil.

In the name of Jesus, I take authority over Satan, every principality, every evil spirit, and every spirit of wickedness in high places.  I bind them up in the name of Jesus Christ and render them helpless from operating in my life.  In the name of Jesus I bind and cast off ever spirit of lust, adultery, fornication, lasciviousness, and uncleanliness in my life. Father, I surrender my body to you as a living sacrifice, and I recognize that my body is the temple of the Almighty Living God and a dwelling place for His Holy Spirit and I rejoice in knowing that the blood of Jesus Christ covers me.
Satan, in the name of Jesus, every stronghold, You have tried to bring against me has been rendered helpless, powerless and ineffective to operate in my life, by the authority of Jesus Christ! I put off all forms of lust and put on the new nature of righteousness, purity, and honesty. Jesus has defeated satan in my life, and now you are under my feet, and your power of lust and sin is broken in my life.
Father, I thank You for hearing my prayer, and delivering me from the tricks of the enemy.  I thank You for Your word and how it is established in my heart and in my life.  I thank You for giving me power over the enemy, I thank You for strengthening me so that I will not defile my body, and that it will be a temple for the Holy Spirit.  Thank You Lord, for restoring me, for cleansing me, and for forgiving me for my weakness.  I praise You; I give You all the glory and say Hallelujah to the name of Jesus.

In Jesus name Amen

Confessions of A Fat Girl

My Mom tells me that when I was younger I would never eat. I remember saying comments like "Mommy I am full ! I had water". She tells me that I was a sick child and at one point she thought I was going to die from the parasite or from malnutrition. Nevertheless, God had other plans for me and I am here by his grace.
Me and my Mommy <3 !

Now I am overweight (obese). Although people who love me seem not to see it. I used to hate the comments I would get from people who where shocked that a big girl can wear a tight fitting dress shamelessly.

Me and My good Friend Last year

"Wow you are so bold, I could never wear that dress and look beautiful." I am not sure if that was just my hidden insecurities that made me feel some kind of way about comments like that. I love my true unAmericanized Africans, they have no fear in telling you whats on their mind without thinking about how you will take it ( I hope you sense the sarcasm). "How come your sister is skinny and you are fat?".  "Shamesa ( My Somalian friend pronounced my name the Arab way), you are a beautiful girl BUT you would be gorgeous if you lost weight."  "The way you carry yourself and your body is amazing".

Food this year has become an enemy in some respects. Before I started realizing that I was fat ( I know right) I eat when I was hungry and did not put much thought into my food. As long as there was carbs, meat and veggies I was straight (good). This year sprung a different kind of anxiety within me. A  feeling of losing a battle I did not know I was fighting. The worst thing is being in a degree program that statistically taught me I have been set up for failure due to my blackness. For all my science health students remember this; If you are black ,  Aboriginal and South Asian, all heart conditions, any physiological condition excluding those related to mental health we are predisposed to. Regardless of statistics, having to count calories and watch the scale constantly has become tiring. I am tiered of not feeling comfortable in my own skin. I am exhausted of looking at my naked body and not seeing God anymore. God blessed us with this vessel for Him to dwell inside of us not for this vessel to be a source of anxiety.

What does God think about my insecurities ? God says we are fearly and wonderfully made and his works are marvellous! ( Psmal 139:14). Not only that, but he created me in His image (Genesis 1:27). God wants us to strive for good bodily health, mental and spiritual health. He wants us to flourish in all areas of our life. He is in the business of Character Building not house sitting. He has called us for a purpose and a destiny and it requires us to give our all. John in 3 John 1:2 'prays that all may go well with us and that we may be in good health, as it goes well with our souls'. Disease is not my portion. Heart conditions is not my portion. I am no longer linked to the blood line of my ancestor but I linked to the blood line of Christ.

The devil is Liar yall! And we need to recognize when the enemy wants to come against our destiny. When God shows you an area of improvement, for me it has been committing 110% in my school, health and most importantly my walk with him, the devil can use that as a way to shame you. This leads to condemnation which can only lead to our down fall. Roman 8:1- 5 says There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  Holy Spirit corrects in love ladies. We need to guard our hearts and love who we are and understand that God is taking us to our promise. God wants us to be accountable, He wont give us the easy way out. He is not an easy diet pill or in other cases He does not give you a quick fix.

Ladies we will not put up balloons and bring out the cheese and crackers to have a self pity party. Confidently love yourself through God. There is no way I can love myself without seeing myself in Gods eyes. This is a process and we are getting there. I miss Loving myself completely and I dont want my other sisters(yall) to go through such insignificance because you are significant. Remember Ladies as a men thinkth so is he. So if we want to change our circumstance we have to change our thinking. Out of the heart flows the issues of life. If you cant imagine yourself better you can't have a better future. The battle is in our mind. The devil only needs a foothold so he can control the rest of our circumstances. Lets up root all seeds that are not of God and think the way God thinks through the renewing of our mind. Once get power over our minds and every area including health will follow in alignment. And remember 'Although we may fall seven times seven we will rise again' (Micah 7:8, Proverbs 24:16)

Me and Sarah B!

Love you dearly!

Fulfill your Destiny: Kingdom Women With a Purpose Driven prt1

As a body of Christ, we have been misdirected in worship. Destruction of life have clouded what God intended when he called us to be "Christ- Like".  Hebrew 12:2 tells us to 'keep your eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of your faith'. We do this through Holy Spirit, who enables us to cast down strong holds aka thought process that we have learned from this would and really re-define what it is to be Christ- Like. All these illusions and destructions that the devil puts on will no longer be a factor, rather they will just be actors helping us step into our destiny.

Sister, are you fully functioning in what God intended for you in this life? When you truly look at your life do you see that it has destiny and purpose? In Jeremaih 1:5, God told you that ' before I formed you in your mothers womb I knew you, before you where born I set you apart, I appointed you as a prophetess to the nations'.  Kingdom Woman of God, do you not understanding that you have a destiny within you waiting to unfold?  You have been set apart, hand picked from God for God, you are a world changer, appointed to function fully in the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit he has available for you.

In Jeremaih 29:11  God said to you 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,  thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you a future and hope'. Ladies, God can speak and it is. But when it comes to you, he takes the time to THINK and process in his mind a plan and a purpose. He takes the time to orchestrate your life with such brilliance and excellence. He looks at you and say mighty Woman of Valor, you are of virtue even when you are still a hot mess.

Society, nations and continent are shaped by people with a dream. Any dream worthy talking about is a dream that is spiritually conceived and has to be manifested in the physical realm as a destiny. In Ephesians 2:10 Apostle Paul outlines clearly our identity in Christ when he says, " for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepares beforehand that we should walk in them." Outside of Jesus, there is nothing, it is all vanity. With him John tells as that all things where created, therefore an empire built has to be built on Christ the rock in which we stand.

A Lot of the time, we find ourselves fantasizing about heaven, rather then living out the purpose God has for us here on earth. If God was all about heaven, as soon as we get saved he would take us (I wish He did) to heaven right away. We are to leave with a strong impact on this earth. A women with a dream is a women with the destiny to change a generation in her hands with the Christ within her.

If you have not already read Sarah's Post on Identity in Christ to gain a deeper understanding on who you are in Christ. Purpose begins with Christ. This is Part one of A series! Stay tuned to the rest !

FAITH=POWER, FAITH=AUTHORITY

FAITH=POWER, FAITH=AUTHORITY.
God has been taking me through a journey of understanding what Faith is and the power within it. I think it’s important to understand what faith is, so that you are not just blindly saying that you have faith that a situation is going to work, and that God is in control. You need to understand that faith is not just something God has thrown at you mindlessly. There’s emphasis about having faith, and standing on your faith, and faith works when it doesn’t waver and this is all true, but you need to also understand that Faith from God is Power from God. When trouble ensues we like to run to God, asking, pleading, crying that He fix this sudden onslaught of evil that’s coming our way. But I’m saying you don’t need to run to God all the time. God has given you an arsenal of weapons; God gave you power when he gave you Faith. Galatians 3:11 says, “The just shall live by faith.” Living by faith. Don’t just read it and say it without understanding it. The just are sustained, or supplied by faith. Faith holds this power. It holds enough to allow you to survive: this is what God has armed you with; a weapon, a mechanism to sustain you, on which you can survive.
So, when trouble arises, if you are born again, face that mountain like the child of God that you are; face it like you know that your Father owns this world and there's nothing that will come against you that He has not given you power to cut down; face it courageously because your father has armed you with the weapons to deal with the situation. We often have trouble figuring out how to exercise our faith, and when trouble arises, it’s an opportunity for you to exercise your faith. It may not even be a big mountain that you  need to speak to  to fully make faith work for you. It could be a seemingly harmless comment someone says about your situation. That’s an opportunity for you to take your sword and cut the devil’s neck, shoulders, knees and toes. You can do it because God gave you that power. You don’t need to stand in agreement with what that person says, then later on be depressed about not having faith. No! You have it. You just didn’t exercise it. God gave you power and you just stood there and allowed someone to cut you and your dream to shreds. You are not weak. Your strength is from, and is in God.
Look at what Jesus was saying in Matthew 21:21: And truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, be taken and thrown into the sea, it will happen.” Again, Matthew 17:20:….Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Jesus is illustrating to you the power you have through this God-given faith. You shouldn’t doubt that you have it, because the moment you were born again, God implanted in you a measure of faith. The faith he gave you is powerful enough for you to speak into situations and see those mountains moved and cast into the sea. I’ve learned that this faith is powerful enough to make ALL things possible to me. You name it, faith can do it. Reflect on that. Imagine living in a world where there isn’t anything out of your reach; where you speak things and they just happen, where you have access to the best of everything. There isn't anything that is inaccessible, unbearable, etc, literally everything is possible.  [this branches off into working within the spiritual realm and taking hold of things that are not as though they are; that’s a whole different ball game/discussion from what I’m writing about here].  When you start operating in this realm, you begin to have a different vision, a new sight and understanding into what’s possible.

But that’s how you grow your faith, that’s how you exercise and put it to work. By living by it, and allowing it to sustain you; by enforcing it in all things and in everything. We are not powerless beings. God isn’t raising us up just so we run to him at every drop of trouble. He is equipping us to withstand the onslaught of the enemy. Why would he equip us if he didn’t expect us to fight? Soldiers don’t recognize trouble then run to the general asking for help. No. They have been equipped, they have the weapons, the authority to eliminate any hindrance in their path. Don’t think  by accepting this authority and walking in it you’re walking in  your own power and taking God’s place. Not at all. All that power is Gods’. Through you He is showing his Might and Majesty. Step out from fear and act like an heir to the throne. Princes have power. Exercise it. God has placed you on higher ground. Stop confusing yourself thinking you don’t have what you were given. It’s there. Exercise it. Don’t allow yourself to be deceived by the devil. Your father is not a liar. The faith God has given you is sufficient; don’t believe the devil’s lies when he says that you don’t have enough faith, or that it’s too small. Don’t start repeating these lies to yourself either and doing the devil’s job for him. You’re not his servant! You’re a Prince, co-heir with Jesus. What God has given you is enough to overcome anything, and everything in this world!

Get out of the rags you’re wearing. You’re in the kingdom of God now. Adorn your royal garments and go do your Princely duties. God loves you; God loves us. He has given us the victory already.

Until next time,

Chenai

Church Girl Re-Defined

I came across this radio show through twitter and I'm still not sure what the main topic is but they are talking a lot about relationships between women of God and there are 4 different women sharing different info..
http://xcelradio.com/listen-live/

Iron sharpens iron, BUT it does not cut.
Be vulnerable with other women and be a safe place for them

What does a woman of God look like? She reflects God.
Self-less, not selfish. New mercy every day. The same way God treats us, we treat our friends the same way. Commit.
Philippians - learn to love appropriately - use your head and test your feelings so your love is intelligent, not sentimental gush. Love even when it is not easy to love!

We all have a reflection - you will either see it in the Word, or the world.
It's one thing to make a mistake, it's another thing to live it!

Be accountable - for your actions. Hold your sisters accountable.
You are not above the bible - be open to accountability. How else can you get better?

Love must be intentional - pray about it and practice everyday the fruits of the spirit.

Remove the masks with your girls! This is the key to liberation. We are all an ex-something yall.

Practice forgiveness. As a woman of God you HAVE to make it a priority.

Fear makes us make bad decisions - the only way to find security and hope is through walking with God daily. Find your GODfidence.
Allow people to be flawed, and love them anyway.
When our hearts are connected to God we see people through his filter, not ours.

Genesis 1:26-27 - We are created to rule and reign WHEREVER we are placed - home, marketplace, school...
Becoming like Christ only happens by FIRE. To burn away all these things we've absorbed between being born and being re-born. Humble yourself.. you WILL suffer... Becoming like Christ is a process of sanctification. God doesn't break us down, He breaks us open.
This is why sisterhood is important. As we are breaking open we have accountability and support. We come together in unity, and in that place we become a force to be reckoned with.

We wrongly equate joy and circumstance. Our faith is theoretical at times. Joy through theoretical faith is easy. When you have food and shelter, it's easy to have faith that you'll have it tomorrow. Can you have practical faith? Joy is a fruit of the Spirit - don't confuse it with happiness, which is fleeting!

As sisters we have to be in accord(ance) with one another  - show each other love! Commit to having deep relationships with your sisters. But it starts with loving yourself, then you can see your sisters as an extension of yourself. Your purpose is to be a blessing to others.

Healthy sisterhood is possible, and it does happen, all the time, and when it occurs - it is powerful.

Identity In Christ

The Lord has been speaking to me about identity lately. Through journaling I have gotten real with myself and with God and realized that I do not really know who He says I am. I have grown up in the church and know the rhetoric… but a lot of it does not mean much to me on a personal level. I was led to start learning through the Word exactly who God sees when He sees me… past the earthly roles of sister, daughter, friend, girlfriend… that people identify me as.It has been awesome and this is just the beginning but I am on cloud nine yall! Firstly, on the topic of who we are in Christ…I wanna start of with a shout out to the internet because it makes things so much easier! A simple search will lead you to pages and pages of bible verses that tell us who God says we are.The first thing I had to grasp was what Paul really meant when he said in 2 Corinthians 5:17 when he says that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old, my former identity is done with! And ALL things are new. Not the easy-to-change things, not the outward things, not just the habits, ALL things have been made new through Christ. In this newness I discover that I am beautiful and wonderfully made (Psalm 139), I am no longer a slave to sin, but I am free (Romans 6:18), I am royalty (Revelation 1, 1 Peter 2:9) I am far more precious than rubies (Proverbs 31)… I could go on and on!

My favourite is this revelation that I am the bride of Christ (Revelation 22:17). I get so much joy knowing that one day I will meet my husband, Jesus, face to face and sit at the table as his wife! I was quickly put in my place when I realized that all this isn’t for me! This isn’t so I can go through life being the most awesome version of myself so people can say nice things about me at my funeral. This isn’t so I can sleep with a smile, confidence always on 100.This is for God’s glory! Plain and simple. I am here for HIM. I am me for the world to see Him through me. My life should be a testimony ofGod’s GRACE because who I am is not my doing – there is not enough willpower and strength in me to accomplish what The Lord has set out for me to do, or to become who He has ordained me to be. I am called to LOVE. God is love, and His Spirit is in me, therefore I should be overflowing with love. Love should define me and my actions. Especially my actions towards others! This is where conviction comes in and this is something I will spend a life working on by God’s grace.

I am realizing that God didn’t only create ME (sounds silly to say). He didn’t only make promises to me. I am a small (yet very instrumental) part of the body of believers. I am called to love those who are like me, and unlike me. Colour and culture are not acceptations and that is a hard lesson for me yall. On a very real level I am being convicted about how I treat and talk about people who are not like me. I see people in an earthly light, highlighting their wrongs and even putting traits on them that don’t even belong to them. Christ died for Jews and Gentiles alike and his love does not discriminate. I shouldn’t either. The chorus of this song isn’t in English but it was an eye-opener for me to see all kinds of people coming together to worship God and while watching this video for the first time it really hit me that TRUE LOVE transcends all the injustices of this world.

Regret - Testimony

Even though I am delivered from sexual immorality, which is a sin that used to easily trip me up, I found myself occasionally feeling regret about that past and in turn felt unworthy.
Now I understand that I have to remind myself that when God set me free He not only set me free from that sin but from the feelings of shame and regret. I have been cleansed from all unrighteousness (Colossians 1:15-22). So I should therefore no longer live in shame and regret. The Lord and my saviour has forgiven me and because I am in Christ, I do not live in condemnation (Romans 8:1). My past and the deliverance of that sin is only a testimony of God's glory! It is a beautiful illustration of his GOODNESS. How can I possibly regret that! So ladies, we have to remember to live in the newness of life given to us through Christ (Galations 2:20). Let us not be stuck in the past but remember that what God has brought us through and out is a reflection of his Love.

Set Apart

My word from God today is to be set apart.
It is so amazing how the Lord answers us so clearly and quickly sometimes!
I went to bed thinking with this thought in my mind... "I claim to be God's child.. but how am I really different from everyone else... what does that look like?"

Okay sidenote: I have had the Holy Bible app for forever but JUST found out a few days ago that they have bible study plans! I kinda went crazy and subscribed to quite a few! So on morning 1 of checking them out.. it just so happened that every reading was somehow connected to my query last night!
All my devotions and bible verses this morning highlighted the role we have as believers to be set apart from the rest of the world.
I read Romans 6 which talks about how we died with Christ -- we are no longer slaves to sin the way we used to be!
For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin - because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. Romans 6:6-8
The next daily devotional focused on Proverbs 1 which warns us to pursue wisdom and shun evil
As if that wasn't enough, I looked at Psalm 1. This chapter presents what the way of the wicked looks like, compared to the way of the righteous.
To top it all off, the bible verse of the day is:
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty. 1 Corinthians 1:27

Wow! This was so powerful to me. These passages all relate to being set apart in that they are reminders that God's ways are not the world's ways! God, in his mighty wisdom (which we can tap into through the Holy Spirit), has called His children to lead a life that is different! The world thinks it has everything figured out - but we are supposed to look foolish and weak even when we pursue God's righteous ways.
As a Christian, how do I stand apart from the ungodly, sinful world?

Purpose Driven

Philippians 3:14

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Prayer: Thank You LORD for your Kingdom Women. Women of God who You have called out of darkness into Your marvellous light. I thank You LORD that each individual not only has a purpose but is the purpose. I thank You LORD that Your Daughters of Zion are crowning You LORD of their life. Crowning your King over every detail in their life. I ask LORD that You take permanence in their life. Take full control as we surrender ourselves as a living sacrifice onto You Father. LORD Jesus, I pray that You be a consuming fire and consume everything in our life that does not look, breath, think, talk like you. LORD I ask You be a restoring fire, and restore everything in our life that belongs to You. Holy Spirit I ask you do what only you can do, which is, take one message and multiply it a 100 000 different ways.  Today is the day we will not remain the same. Today is the day LORD, that you created before the foundation of the earth that we my set our minds on the things of You LORD and abounded the cares of this world. Continue to establish us in your grace Father, above all Let your name me glorified in our life. In the Might Name of Jesus who conquered and defeated all I pray Amen

Last weekend, Chenai wanted us to stand with her in faith and fast and pray. Zemi and I took turns in fighting in faith with Chenai for her breakthrough. Saturday she messaged me asking me to pray that the Lord gives her strength. I continued to do what I was doing while praying for her. Holy Spirit directed me to this scripture in Isaiah 40: 31 But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. As I was looking up the versus on my Bible App, Holy Spirt showed me this scripture Isaiah 40: 3-4 The voice of one crying in the wilderness: " Prepare the way of the LORD; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rouch places smooth.

Ladies we are in a race. The race of faith. This race is like a relay race. It started of with Abraham who is referred to as the father of faith. He run his race and passed the baton to the prophets who pointed to the coming of Christ, Jeremiah, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah passed the baton to John the Baptist who run the race and prepared the Children of God to receive Jesus. When Jesus died, rose again and defeated all, the baton was passed to the Apostles who where led by the Spirit of God to write what we know as the New testament/ the new testimony of Grace.

We are the generation who is preparing the way of the coming of the Groom. The last generation to run the race well so that Jesus comes back to a church without spot of wrinkle. We are an elite generation in whom God thought of before the foundations of the earth and placed, positioned us so we may proclaim that Jesus is Lord. We are the Last Generation to run the race with a God conscious mind, set on his ways not on ours. Ladies, the last person to run the race is the strongest runner. God found it fit that you would be in this era not another. Do not lose confidence in the God/Jesus you serve. Fight the good fight of faith knowing above all that you have a crown awaiting you. We have a great cloud of witnesses cheering us on. Lets get fit with the Word of God and run this race.

Love you,

Scriptures For Meditation

2 Timothy 4:7

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

2 Timothy 4:7-8

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

 Acts 20:24

But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

2 Timothy 2:5

An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.

Philippians 3:12-14

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 5:7

You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?

Hebrews 12:1-29

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. ...

2 Timothy 4:6-8

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

Hebrews 11:1-40

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. ...

Isaiah 40:28-31

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

1 Corinthians 9:24-25

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.

Galatians 6:9

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Hebrews 12:2

Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
